The Bavarian Red Cross has organised a holiday home for disadvantaged children in the alpine upland south of Munich. The Project is focused on children between 9 and 15 years, mainly living in areas that are struggling with political upheaval, war or economic distress – for example the Balkan states. In recent years an increasing number of children from Germany living in poverty are spending their holidays in the Pupplinger Au.
Various activities out in the nature are organised as well as the conveyance of knowledge in science, history and culture.
The main building of the Red Cross is in urgent need of renovation and heat insulation. Moreover, a playground on the outside area is planned. The Padma Trust for Children is raising money for the construction material, whereas the construction work will be done by employees of the purchasing department of BMW on a voluntary basis.
